| TN Hills Blue |

| My first true foray into acrylic paint. New medium, all dots; be gentle. |
This is the next in the Tennessee Hills series. Had to give a nod to autumn, and this one'll
be done in no time! Stay tuned cuz I've been walking around these hills and noticing stuff...

The above series is straight from Cookeville, Tennessee. Great, big, beautiful ice
cream sign from a gentler age. A really cool town, as a matter of fact! These two were an absolute pleasure.
I have been working on this piece for over 10 years now, and I'll tell ya - I'm about halfway done.
Some things just have to have more attention! Seriously though, I've some work left to do on it still, but I promise to
make this 32" X 40" monster available in the Store as soon as it's ready (pictured here is about 1/8th of the
actual image).

Just some little close-up, sleepy-eyed little views.

This was a photograph of a butterfly that landed near an old friend and me one day,
and shortly after, died. It just sat there, slowly flapping its wings, minutes before it passed into the next world. I love
the image, and always wondered what big things this little guy had in store for itself. My Ma always used the name "flutterby"
instead of butterfly, and so I do as well. Here's to sweet and (hopefully) bizarre dreams!

This is normally such a menacing animal, and my rendering of him seemed almost jovial in comparison
with the original image, that I think of this guy as an Ambassador For the Shark Nations, working tirelessly for peace among
the sharks and with us volatile humans.

Houston Runners
Houston is a really strange city - I mean, really.
There IS, however, a great diversity that I think must have saved it from sinking into the Gulf of Mexico many times.
This piece is from a photograph taken by Heidi Powell-Prera (www.findheidi.com), and is my tribute to strength and vibrance
in diversity everywhere. Goodonya, lads.

An old friend took this one as well of a preacher resting his foot on a New Orleans lamppost. His eyes
and his hands particularly interested me, as they seem to perfectly illustrate the precarious position in which much of the
clergy find themselves in this dizzying modern world.

Hello, Youngster
I have always admired folks hardy enough to make it through life's rich gamut to old age. I came across
this image and had to take it on as a welcome challenge. Something about her steady demeanor reminded me that there's
a vital part of each of us that's entirely free of time, aging, and all that other nonsense.
